Oatmeal Chocolate Peanut Butter Drop Cookies
Talk about a mouthful... and I don't just mean you'll be eating a mouthful of these cookies, I mean the name is a mouthful. Yes, that was cheesey. Sorry.
I was going to experiment and just bake these cookies, and then I did a little research and learned that the ingredients used for such a treat don't really have to be baked. They're drop cookies. You put them on wax paper, set them in the fridge, and then you enjoy your delicious creation!
This recipe is easy, not time consuming, and a delight to leave for someone if they're house or pet sitting for you. (Which is the reason I'm making them today!)
Supplies:
- 1 1/2 C Sugar
- 1/2 C Milk
- 1/2 C Peanut Butter
- 2 1/2 C Oats
- 4 tblsp Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 C Butter
- 1 tblsp Vanilla
Directions:
- Mix the Butter, Milk, Cocoa Powder, and Sugar in a saucepan. Mix constantly until the mixture comes to a boil. Let it cook for two minutes following.
- After it's cooked for two minutes, remove it from the heat and add the Peanut Butter and the Vanilla. Mix this well before adding the Oats.
- Use a teaspoon to drop the mixture on to wax paper. *It's better if the wax paper is spread over cookie sheets so it will be easy to move to the fridge.* Space them apart as evenly as possible. Refrigerate them for at least twenty minutes.
- After you remove them from the fridge and serve them (or just enjoy them yourself), make sure you store them somewhere cool. If the refrigerator is your best place, then so be it!
